What is pixel pitch?
Pixel pitch is the distance between the centers of two adjacent LEDs, measured in millimeters. A P2.5 panel has LEDs 2.5 mm apart. A P3.9 panel has them 3.9 mm apart.
Smaller number = LEDs packed tighter = sharper image = higher cost.

Why viewing distance decides your pitch
The closer people stand, the smaller the pitch you need. Too large a pitch up close and you see individual dots (“the screendoor effect”). Too small a pitch far away and you pay for resolution nobody can see.
Quick formula: comfortable minimum pitch (mm) ≈ viewing distance (meters) × 1.0–1.2 for transparent LED.
- Viewer at 2 m → aim P2.5 or finer
- Viewer at 5 m → P3.9 is fine
- Viewer at 10 m+ → P5–P10 acceptable
Pixel pitch vs resolution
Pitch and resolution are not the same. Resolution = how many LEDs fit in your physical size. A 10 m² wall at P3.9 has far fewer pixels than the same wall at P2.5 — so the finer pitch looks sharper at the same dimensions.
Does transparency affect pitch choice?
Yes. Transparent LED leaves gaps between strips for see-through. Finer pitch means more LED strips, which slightly lowers transparency. If you need maximum see-through (e.g., a heritage window), you may accept a coarser pitch (P3.9–P5) to keep 80%+ transparency.

- Over-buying pitch — paying for P1.5 when viewers never come within 5 m. Waste of budget.
