Exhibition and Trade Show LED Display Solutions
An exhibition stand has one job: stop people walking past. You have roughly two seconds of peripheral vision to convert a corridor of distracted visitors into someone who steps onto your stand. LED does this better than any other element of stand design — but only if it is specified for the environment, which is bright, noisy, close-range, and brutally time-limited on build and break.
Why LED Outperforms Print and Projection on a Stand
- Motion in the peripheral field. Human vision is tuned to detect movement at the edge of view. A static printed graphic does not trigger it; a moving LED surface does.
- It survives hall lighting. Exhibition halls run at 800–1,500 lux. Projection is unusable. LED at 1,000+ nits is fully saturated.
- Content changes per day and per audience. One stand, different presentations for press day, trade day and public day — with no reprint cost.
- It reuses across the season. A modular LED kit travels to every show on the calendar. Printed graphics are landfill after each one.
Product Selection for Stands
| Stand element | Recommended product | Typical pitch |
|---|---|---|
| Main back wall | Rental LED cabinets | P2.6 – P3.9 |
| Hanging banner / overhead ring | Lightweight rental LED | P3.9 – P4.8 |
| Product showcase / vitrine | Holographic LED Display | P1.86 – P2.5 |
| Glass meeting room walls | Transparent LED Crystal Film | P3.91 |
| Premium hero wall, close viewing | TFT Micro LED | P0.9 – P1.5 |
Pitch: Stands Are Close-Range Environments
The mistake carried over from event work is specifying P4.8 or coarser because “it is only a stand”. On a stand, visitors are one to three metres away, not ten. At two metres, P4.8 is visibly pixelated and reads as cheap — exactly the opposite of the impression you paid for. For any surface a visitor can reach out and touch, P2.6 or finer, and for a premium hero wall, Micro LED at P0.9–P1.5.
Holographic Showcases: The Highest Dwell-Time Element
A holographic LED showcase places animated 3D content over a real product while keeping the product visible behind the screen. In practice this is the single strongest dwell-time driver on a stand, for two reasons: it works for a group at once with no glasses, and visitors film it on their phones, which turns the stand into organic social reach for days after the show. The content requirement is specific — pure black backgrounds, strong edge lighting, slow rotation — and we supply a content specification sheet with every unit.
Build, Break and Logistics
Exhibition schedules are unforgiving. Practical requirements:
- Quarter-turn locking cabinets so two crew can build a back wall in under two hours.
- Flight cases loading six to eight cabinets with integrated cabling, sized to fit standard freight pallets.
- Single power and data feed per column, so the stand electrician has one clean termination rather than a spaghetti of drops.
- Spares travelling with the kit — 3–5% spare modules, spare receiving card, spare PSU. There is no time to ship a part mid-show.
Content That Works on a Stand
Design for a two-second read from an angle, in a bright hall, with noise. That means one message per scene, type large enough to read at four metres, high contrast, and looped motion with no dead frames. Avoid dialogue-driven video — nobody can hear it. Save detailed product explanation for the screen inside the meeting area, where a visitor is seated and paying attention.
Rent or Buy
If you exhibit at three or more shows a year, buying a modular LED kit usually pays back inside eighteen months against rental invoices, and it removes the risk of a different panel model turning up at each show. If you exhibit once or twice a year, or the stand design changes radically each time, rental remains the right call. We supply both, and we will tell you honestly which one your show calendar justifies.
